Vermiculite
Vermiculite, a phyllosilicate mineral popular in building material, is a regular source of asbestos in structures throughout Montana. In fact, a local vermiculite mine was found to contain high levels of multiple forms of asbestos, leading to a high presence in the local area. If you have vermiculite in your building, per the EPA, it is to be assumed to contain asbestos and should be treated accordingly.

Asbestos was used heavily in the construction of industrial, commercial, and residential projects into the 1980s in the United States, especially surrounding boilers and pipes. While safe as long as the canvas cover remains intact, buildings with old, cracked, or damaged insulation should seek assistance to prevent any risks to health.
